My arts or creative practice (including details about my specific focus within that art form/practice and my strengths)

I am a Digital Creative Media Producer with five years of experience in film making/video production (long-form e.g. documentaries, reviews + short-form e.g. TikTok, Shorts) to publish on a variety of platforms (social media, news platforms etc.).

I engage in live-streaming/broadcasting (Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, etc.) involving performance arts (online personality building), design (broadcast framing + composition), and video/cinematography skills (camera handling + lighting).

I’m experienced in multi-disciplinary work production – combining moving images (video, motion graphics etc.), still image (photography, 3D renders, graphic design) and other creative arts (performance arts, creative writing, etc.) to publish a collection of work onto a digital platform. A link to my website is available on request.

My track record of experience and success - or the track record of experience and success of the creative or artist that I will partner

Creative Career Mentorship given through Toipoto (https://thebigidea.nz/toipoto ) and a Twitch Partner (link available on request).

Describe the experience you have had working with children or young people, teaching or facilitating creative processes

I am a Creative Art projects producer working directly with adolescent audiences (13 to 18 years), often sought-after or aspired by younger audiences (6 to 12 years). My experience with social media content production (e.g. YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Instagram) as well as partnership with one of the platforms (Twitch) is greatly aspired to by all kids, due to the increase in digital content consumption.

Live Streaming/broadcasting track record of attracting younger/adolescent audiences. I have experience with handling mental health, trauma-related issues given by younger audiences, and referring to appropriate solutions/assistance I have the ability to 'break down' complex systems to make it easy to understand for both young and old audiences (experience taught me that both audiences benefit well with 'lay-man' term breakdowns).

Why I want to be part of the Creatives in Schools programme and how my involvement will link to my creative practice

After being referred by the Toipoto Career Development programme, my experience and skills in digital creative media production, especially focused around publishing for social media, video/streaming platforms, and user-generated content platforms/communities, would be heavily sought after for both schools in New Zealand looking for improvements to their digital literacy curriculum, and for young students who aspire to become a content creator, film maker, or multi-disciplinary creative artist.

My involvement in Creatives in Schools gives me the opportunity to share my experiences, skills, and stories around being a creative media producer, especially as someone who was born when the internet was young. In return, I would like to learn more about our children/adolescent's perception around the use of social media, their thinking into making content for social media, and how social media affects their behaviour, aspirations, and future works, all of which help to benefit my creative practices in digital media production.
