Project proposal checklist
Use this checklist to make sure you have covered all the requirements before submitting a joint proposal.

Read the information about the Creatives in Schools programme on the following pages:
|2.||Identify the creative needs of your students and ākonga or a creative project that will support student and ākonga learning or wellbeing.|
|3.||Select the lead teacher who will work on this project.|
Find your creative(s).
Contact the creative(s) to discuss your project.
Ensure that your project will achieve the required outcomes for:
|7.||Select the students who will participate in the project.|
|8.||Select other school(s) and kura to participate in this project (optional).|
|9.||Invite representatives of parents, whānau and community in your project planning so they are also aware and can contribute to the project. (This will help you achieve the outcomes for parents and whānau and will also strengthen family, whānau and community ties.)|
|10.||Get Education Sector Logon (ESL) access to the Creatives in Schools online application form. Your school’s Delegated Authoriser can give you access for the new role Creatives School User. You will be then able to login using your ESL login credentials and access the Creatives in Schools funding application . Find more details about submitting a joint proposal here .|
Start putting together your joint proposal with the teacher and kaiako and creative(s). It must include:
|12.||Carefully read the three questions in the joint proposal and prepare answers of up to 500 words (for the first two questions) and up to 200 words for each of the four outcomes.|
Complete and attach your project timeline. You must use this

. The project must run for between 8 and 20 weeks (excluding planning time). Creative(s) need to spend 100 contact hours with the students and ākonga.
Complete and attach your project budget. You must use this
template (Word 2007 41 KB)
Gather all relevant documents to support your joint proposal. Remember to include:
|16.||Submit the joint proposal using this form before the due date.|
|17.||Keep in touch with your creative(s) after submitting the joint proposal and let them know any updates or progress about it.|
|18.||Apply for police vetting of your creative(s) as soon as the project is accepted.|
- Click the checkbox as you complete each task. It will add a cross to the box.
- This is a joint proposal. The school and kura and the creative(s) must work together to plan the project.
- The school and kura are the lead applicant, so it is your responsibility to submit the joint proposal.
- The joint proposal link will be only accessible by the lead teacher of the Creatives in Schools project. The lead teacher needs to get the ESL access of the new Creatives school user role to be able to access the application. The lead teacher can request this access from the school and kura’s Delegated ESL Authorisers.
- Apply for police vetting of your creative(s) as soon as your project is accepted. This must be done before they start delivering the project in your school.
