My arts or creative practice (including details about my specific focus within that art form/practice and my strengths):

I am primarily a painter but have taught photography, design, painting, and printmaking at secondary level. I trained in leadership, life coaching, and art therapy and now use a range of art practices to support individual and group wellbeing. I DJ and use music as part of the arts experience. My latest exhibition is about how the daily practice of art making can bring joy to our lives.

I have taught and led visual arts departments in secondary schools for 25 years. My successes include art camps and student exhibitions at galleries. I have wide knowledge and experience of leading arts initiatives in schools, and national art assessment.

Describe the experience you have had working with children or young people, teaching or facilitating creative processes:

I have taught visual arts at secondary level for 25 years and have been a PLD leader and facilitator to many teachers and school communities as advisor and expert partner to Kāhui Ako.

Why I want to be part of the Creatives in Schools programme and how my involvement will link to my creative practice:

I want to share my experience and practical knowledge of the visual arts and more recently share how the arts can support individual and collective wellbeing.
