My arts or creative practice (including details about my specific focus within that art form/practice and my strengths):

Bands, drama, and piano lessons are my passions, and I am available most days in school times, and after school Wednesday and Thursday.

My track record of experience and success - or the track record of experience and success of the creative or artist that I will partner with:

I have 20 years of experience teaching piano and dramas in schools and in studios. I studied jazz piano at Massey University and have done papers in BA Education. I write all my own work and run my own business to promote the arts in education. I have taught other teachers how to implement methods of fun and play into their classrooms, and I aim to inspire more!

Describe the experience you have had working with children or young people, teaching or facilitating creative processes:

I have worked with students from preschool aged through to adults. School productions, after-school productions, school holiday programmes – all in drama and theatre. Community projects in Shakespeare, piano lessons in schools, and I also run my own drama programmes after school in communities.

I am passionate about what I do and believe strongly that drama can have a massive impact for life-long skills. I write all my own work and run my own business to promote the arts in education. I have taught other teachers how to implement methods of fun and play into their classrooms, and I aim to inspire more!

Why I want to be part of the Creatives in Schools programme and how my involvement will link to my creative practice:

I want to spread more drama and music into our young people. To see more engagment and connection, offer different opportunities, and grow confidence and self belief in the next generation. Creatives in schools allows this and can provide more experiences for our young people widening their options in life.
