Project information:
Outcomes for students and ākonga: The project focused on improving the well-being of selected students by building relationships that allowed for creativity, learning about the arts, and applying learning skills. It also provided a platform for students to open up about ‘life’, and in the creative process develop and improve self-worth, expression, and self-esteem.
Outcomes for teachers and kaiako: During this project, teachers saw an improvement in students’ engagement in class. They have connected with different adults in the school allowing teachers to better support their learning and focus on the project.
Outcomes for creative: Our creative mentored the students through the arts to find a connection with their creativity in the project and the wider curriculum.
Outcomes for parents and whānau: Parents did not engage with the school and project as much as anticipated. Despite the effort to include parents, their responses were not favourable.
