Project information: The aims of this project are to support our Mua I Malae tamaiti and faia’oga to learn more about Siva Samoa. This will take place in a Samoan bilingual unit within our kura, so it will be more authentic and build cultural capability alongside the language and Pacific values promoted by a bilingual unit of this kind. The opportunities for Siva Samoa and dance links closely to our arts curriculum, key competencies, literacy goals in expression, singing, and language. It has a strong underpinning of a sense of belonging for our tamaiti which is a major educational goal for all kura. The partnership between our creative and parent group Matua Atina'e is strong, and we look to building this relationship further with the school.
Project starting: March 2022
