Project information: We have partnered with two creatives who are Taranaki Tuturu Kapahaka practitioners. We want a sense of belonging for all our children in the Whakaahurangi Rohe. We have established a Kahui Ako (COL) - Kahui Ako o Taranaki Mohoao (Central Taranaki COL). We want all our tamariki to have a sense of belonging to our mana whenua. We want our tamariki and whānau to feel a belonging to the local marae, learning tikanga and kawa while at Whakaahurangi Marae. They will learn the Pakiwaitara and history of Ruaputahanga and show their learning through Waiata and Haka.
