Project information: The children that take part in music therapy are ORS/HHN funded students and vulnerable learners. Music is something that all the children show enjoyment, success, and skill in. They are all able to produce music despite their differences and physical and developmental states. Part of our local curriculum encourages opportunities for students to engage with community providers to broaden their experiences and enhance their learning. Student goals are set for: developing social skills, turn-taking, sharing, increasing awareness of others, promoting social interaction, peer interaction, group work, and participation. Outcomes include enjoyment of music, increased group behaviours, sustaining attention, joint engagement, and creating self-expression via music-making.
