Project information: Our aim is to create a number of pou that visually depict our local stories and narratives. We also aim to capture the narratives of other cultures and ethnicities here at CPS as our tamariki explore their connections with this place. Through localised curriculum experiences, students will be able to learn and appreciate the views and perspectives of mana whenua and make connections with their own heritage. Students will have the opportunity to work with an experienced creative who will guide their learning through visual arts on significant taonga in the area (local mountains, rivers, waka, people, and events), the children's cultures and experiences, history and stories of the past, and cultural patterns.
