In 2021 we plan to have a visual arts focus, culminating with an exhibition of children's work towards the end of the year. We feel the potential for students to learn and inquire about identity would be greatly strengthened by using the visual arts as an integral part of this learning. Each individual student will produce a work or works that references where they have come from.
We are also planning a school-wide project that would see students take their learning about identity as well as the technical skills, and collaborate to tell the story of the school. We plan to design planter beds that will contain a trellis structure and will tell the story of our school site since the beginning of time, and the people for whom it is a special place today. This work will further connect students to identity via the links between the environment, nature and self.
Project starting: May 2021
