Region: Otago / Southland
Art form: Multi-Disciplinary / Verbal
Project name: Confidence in Communication
Project information: Communicating and expressing self is an essential skill for life. Expressing self creatively builds confidence and working creatively with others develops listening, empathy and teamwork.
Students will learn a variety of skills including extempore talks, drama, poetry, storytelling, reading aloud, improvisation, role play, social speeches and more. Each of these tasks challenges students creatively, gives them choice (they select their own poem, develop their talk, etc.) and enhances communication skills through a variety of activities and practice.
The project will conclude with an assessment and each student will receive a certificate, written feedback and a badge. Students will also demonstrate their skills to their parents, caregivers and wider community with a celebration afternoon.
Project starting: February 2021
