My arts or creative practice (including details about my specific focus within that art form/practice and my strengths)

I have some work on Facebook, where I also sell art and upcycled clothing. I have also done workshops with people of various ages and creative abilities. I enjoy working with others as well as on my own.

My track record of experience and success - or the track record of experience and success of the creative or artist that I will partner with

I've worked for myself creatively for about 30 years including commission work, private as well as council projects (such as Art in the park, several kohanga's and day cares in Taranaki, Waitara Plunket and Parihaka peace
festival).

I've also worked in many mediums such as designing and painting large festival flags, totem poles, rocks, fences, walls, canvas, clothing, pretty much anything!

I've had my own co-op pop up shop in New Plymouth where we sold art, craft and clothing, all local people. We also ran a few small events there.

I have a Diploma in Graphic design and worked in that field for a few years when I was younger. I enjoy playing with different mediums, using new techniques and mixing it up a bit. I also love the whole research process as well.

Describe the experience you have had working with children or young people, teaching or facilitating creative processes

I first worked with children at a primary school about 20 years ago. I helped them come up with ideas to depict the local landmarks and scenery then showed them how to transfer them onto large boards with a projector. We then painted and clear coated them and they were put up on the outside of the hall.

I've done a few workshops with older people painting totem poles over the years and more recently I've done a couple of hours at kids parties painting rocks and large fridge magnets. I enjoyed it a lot and the kids loved it!

Why I want to be part of the Creatives in Schools programme and how my involvement will link to my creative practice

I love to share my experience and knowledge and to give back or pass that on. It makes me happy!
