My arts or creative practice (including details about my specific focus within that art form/practice and my strengths)
I began ballet and contemporary dance from a young age, and went on to graduate with a B.A. in Performing and Screen Arts (UNITEC) in 2015. My body of work is cross-disciplinary, focusing on: dance, film, sound and space. These works consider sociological perspectives, exploring how economic structures affect identity and relationships. I also run workshop series under my collective, focusing on inter-arts under voice, body, character, choreography and devising, and aim to challenge students with out-of-the box thinking and creativity. I choreograph, direct and curate in theatrical, film, and gallery settings. I am also a performer and have also appeared in, or been a creative team member in professional productions by: Auckland Theatre Company, Pop-Up Globe, Christchurch Body Festival, Auckland Fringe Festival, Wellington Fringe Festival, and Wet Hot Beauties. I also work in Live Events with The Human Agency, creating concepts and making them come to life.

I have a B.A. in performing arts (acting), achieved advanced 1 and 2 ballet (RAD and BBO syllabus) and achieved various awards through high-school, university and as a freelancer, including:
- NCEA level 1 and 2 dance – Top student award (2009 and 2010)
- NCEA level 1 drama – Top student award (2009)
- NCEA level 3 cultural award (2011)
- Ann Judson School of Ballet – choreographic award (2009)
- UNITEC Start award scholarship
- Utah Dance Film Festival finalist (2017)
- DANZ Mentor award (2018, 2019)
I have also undertaken professional development intensives with: Red Leap Theatre, Footnote Dance Company, George Enescu University (Romania) and other smaller classes.
Describe the experience you have had working with children or young people, teaching or facilitating creative processes
I have worked as an art teacher (2011), choreographer with Dance students (NCEA level 2) (2012), choreographer for a College musical production (2016). I have also run dance workshops for a holiday programme (2016), worked with a fellow artist at an intermediate as a choreographic assistant (2017), run acrobatics workshops for children aged 8–11 (2017), and am currently working as a tutor with a dyslexic student. I also used to work as a face-painter for children of all ages, so have a lot of experience with children. I have also run and facilitated workshops under my collective for adult performing artists.
Why I want to be part of the Creatives in Schools programme and how my involvement will link to my creative practice
I believe tamariki are the future arts makers, and need guidance, wisdom, and insight into problem solving, being kind to oneself, and continuing to learn in the arts. I also love working with children as they often have ways of thinking about things which we forget. It's refreshing!
