My arts or creative practice (including details about my specific focus within that art form/practice and my strengths)
I gained a Higher National Diploma in Graphic Design specialising in illustration in the UK. I am currently working as a watercolour artist but I consider myself an all-round artist in varying media including acrylic mural work and ceramics. I’ve worked with a school completing two murals and several ceramic projects. I’ve also completed a totem pole painting project with a school in Motueka. I really enjoy working with children and would love the opportunity to collaborate with more local schools and communities. I consider myself versatile to many artistic challenges big or small.

Describe the experience you have had working with children or young people, teaching or facilitating creative processes
My children both attended a primary school. During that time I worked on several projects with classes of children ranging from age 8–13. I helped one class make ceramic gargoyles when studying European architecture. I also helped the children design and paint two murals at the school. I worked with another school designing and painting several house team totem poles alongside the children.
Why I want to be part of the Creatives in Schools programme and how my involvement will link to my creative practice
I love working with children! It is very satisfying to share what I know and encourage children to express their ideas creatively.
