Storytelling ~ High Schools

A selection stories is present for the pupils. These stories can all be used just for fun and as an example of oral language in use or some can be used to look at issues such as ‘world and domestic violence’ will other look at the human dynamic as in ‘you can be anything you what’. The stories are presented to engage the minds eye (imagination of the listener) so props are not used and the backdrops and costuming are kept simple to add to the experience while not distracting the listener from the thinking/imaging. The shows are 60 minutes long and workshops on ‘Oral language development’, ‘public speaking’, drama basics’ and ‘improvisation’ are available for pupils and a Staff professional development workshop (SPD) is also available. See http://www.gordonhall.co.nz/high.htm for more info on shows, workshops, SPD and the stories synopsis.
