Creative and functional clay in schools
I would like to see clay being used in schools to enhance learning in other curriculum areas, as well as for the purpose of experiencing and learning different ways of working with clay for either its aesthetic or functional value.

I am a qualified primary teacher. I've been at home with my own children and in this time I've developed a passion for Clay. I've been working with clay for the past 10 years and I'm now completing the diploma in ceramics part time through Otago Polytech. I've successfully exhibited and sold my work through the Orewa Estuary art Gallery and prior to that the Warkworth Craft Gallery. The photos that I've uploaded are photos of my own work as I've not yet undertaken work in schools. AS I would love to combine my teaching and ceramics this is the next obvious step for me.
