Butoh Dance and Dance Therapeutics
My educational focus with dance and butoh, would be to act upon the natural progression of the body and its usage of the mind. Whenever there is angst, love, anger or fear, our body reacts in a certain way to its deepest emotions. Dance therapy and butoh dance, which is from the avante garde scene in Japan starting from WWII, allows the body to express all of the emotions from the inside out. With my 23 years of dance experience, modern, ballet, and ethnic dance, I have been able to truly understand the body and how people can reconnect themselves through dance and remember why we have our bodies as a tool, in the first place.
