My arts or creative practice (including details about my specific focus within that art form/practice and my strengths)
Kia Ora, my experience is largely based in theatre and comedy. I work as a professional stand-up comedian, drag artist, theatre director and actor. I have taught children (ages 6–18) for approximately 9 years. I artistically direct a theatre company which has been running for 3 years. I focus mainly on telling community stories and exploring our memories with a comedic, analytical lens. I also have experience in special effects make-up/drag make-up!

Describe the experience you have had working with children or young people, teaching or facilitating creative processes
I taught for a Theatre Company based in Ashburton for 7 years, teaching students aged 6–18 years. It was my responsibility to plan lessons, track learning journeys and to deliver high quality, engaging drama workshops. I also prepared students for their Trinity Guildhall Examinations where all of my students received nothing lower than 'Distinction'. I was also the Arts Coordinator at a College in 2016. This was a part-time role that grew to include teaching some drama workshops for the senior students and running the school theatresports team. I thoroughly enjoy working with children as they are challenging and curious.
Why I want to be part of the Creatives in Schools programme and how my involvement will link to my creative practice
I would love to work with younger people to engage them with the arts and empower them to be ready to start a sustainable career in the arts if they should so choose.
